I do not see it being repealed once the Gov gets that kind of power they will hardly ever give it up

I answered, but you ignored it. But here I go again, try to pay attention this time.

Searches through which law enforcement officers search a home or business without the owner's or the occupant's permission or knowledge; the expanded use of National Security Letters, which allows the FBI to search telephone, email and financial records without a court order; and the expanded access of law enforcement agencies to business records, including library and financial records.

They couldnt do that before. And it is a lot worse for immigrants who were detained without one reason to do so.

And what are you doing to make them believe you need to be investigated thusly?

They have allways been able to do that. All they need to do is bring along a game warden who has allways had the right to search and come in a home without permission.

The CIA has done wiretapping and such for years. I don't have anything to be worried about so it hasn't bothered me personally. Like Beast said, a game warden (or Conservational Police I believe they are now called in VA) could always search without warrant, but probable cause.

    Re: Dark Day

The point is that the Patriot Act gave the government wide sweeping powers to invade your privacy LEGALLY. It may not mean much to any of ya now, but the fact of the matter is that all the gov. has to do is accuse you of a crime to hold you indefinately without charges or a trial. For all of y'all that whine about the 2nd Amendment and support the Patriot Act...IMO that is blind hypocracy.
...And if you ain't down with that, I got 2 words for ya....
